Munich Museums

I feel very lucky to live in a place where's such a great variety of museums for me to choose from.

On Sundays, the Pinakotheken (Alte Pinakothek, Neue Pinakothek, Pinakothek der Moderne, Sammlung Brandhorst and Sammlung Schack) are yours for 1€ each. Apart from Sammlung Schack they're all situated in walking distance.
Mind you, it can get very busy on Sundays especially on rainy days so I usually head there on a sunny Sunday.

Last Sunday I returned to see the Alex Katz exhibition at Sammlung Brandhorst. I love his large-scale canvases.

This is my favorite. Like a holiday snapshot with the boats in the background.

After a restorative cappuccino I headed towards the Pinakothek der Moderne.

The joys of a quiet exhibition on a sunny Sunday morning.

The cafeteria space, everyone's sitting outside enjoying the sunshine.

Wednesday Sketchclub Update

I'm sure, you all have been wondering what's been happening at the Wednesday Sketchclub. With the exception of a short break on my side, due to the mother of all colds, we are still going strong.

The Gasteig, Munichs cultural center and home to the Philharmonic Orchestra, is a favorite haunt of ours. It's warm and dry, there are exhibitions, a bar, toilets and Munichs biggest public library.

The Bami House is a colorful, little Vietnamese restaurant with good food and good views. Like an indoor street market.

One night we even went into the Theatinerkirche. It was tranquil bur freezing.

The cafe Marais is an amazing French cafe in a former haberdashery shop with all the old fittings and  still lots of treasures to buy.
